Legacy of Determination: A Journey to Upliftment
In 1943, a group of African American Muslims embarked on a daring northward journey, fleeing religious challenges, economic hardship, and the grip of segregation in the rural South during the historic Great Migration.
Their steadfastness led them to claim over 300 acres of stunning Ashford County, New York land. This haven concealed enchanting woodlands, serene streams, and vital underground wells. An Eco-Village - Sakinah Springs - blossomed, a testament to their resilience—a place to provide, restore, and extend support to their larger communities.
Within a 45-minute drive from Buffalo, New York, the Sakinah Springs Eco-Village thrives as a close-knit community, embracing all ages and backgrounds in exploration and reflection.
Their fortitude birthed the A.A.U.A.A. organization, a legacy inspiring strength against adversity, cultivating growth, progress, and community upliftment. This land echoes their journey, a vision for a brighter tomorrow.
