A Legacy Forged in Faith
Addeynu Allahe-Universal Arabic Association, Inc.
Since its organizational inception on October 29, 1938, the Addeynu Allahe-Universal Arabic Association, Inc. (A.A.-U.A.A.) has been an unwavering presence in the State of New York, officially recognized as a 501-c3 religious organization. Rooted in deep devotion and commitment, the association serves as a beacon of Islamic values and principles.
Built upon the profound Islamic tenet of worship and obedience to the Creator and Sustainer of all realms, Allāh, the A.A.-U.A.A. holds steadfast to its mission of advocating and promoting the Islamic way of life (al-Islām) as prescribed in the Glorious Qur’an and the traditions (sunnah) of Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him.
Guided by the visionary leadership of Professor Muhammad Ezaldeen, the association took a monumental stride by purchasing a sprawling 300+ acre plot of land, strategically located 38 miles from Buffalo. This acquisition was a resolute response to the need for a safe haven, where Muslims could practice their faith free from the shackles of racism and social injustices prevailing in the dominant society. This marked the inception of the Jabul Arabiyya community.
In 1941, a significant migration (hijra) of Muslims from urban centers commenced, drawn to this sacred land where faith could flourish unhindered.
Our Founder
Professor Muhammad Ezaldeen nee James Lomax (1886-1957)
Among the pioneers of this noble journey was Muhammad Ezaldeen (rA), the illustrious Founder and original President of both the A.A.-U.A.A. and the Jabul Arabiyya community. His arrival in Buffalo in the late 1930s, at the behest of a group of eager Muslims seeking knowledge of the Islāmic faith and Arabic language, was a pivotal moment. His stature as a scholar in both English and Arabic had preceded him, and his deep understanding of al-Islām, Arabic language, and Egyptian culture poised him to undertake this transformative mission.
The architects behind bringing this eminent figure to Buffalo, and providing unwavering support, were primarily working-class individuals who shared a deep conviction in the Islamic principle of united striving towards a shared purpose. Their efforts were driven by the pursuit of Allāh's Pleasure, in this world and the Hereafter. As they have transitioned to the realm beyond, may Allāh shower His mercy upon their souls.
The legacy of A.A.-U.A.A. and the Jabul Arabiyya community stands as a testament to the enduring power of faith, unity, and purposeful action in the face of adversity, echoing the principles of al-Islām that they have championed.
